Cypress Hill Climb
For this challenge I will be tackling the cycle climb up to Cypress ski resort. This is an uphill ride from the base of the mountain rising 668m and a distance of 10.5km.

Another challenge knocked off!
Well I was lucky with the weather again today, the forecasted rain did not appear and I had a nice clear day for it.
Turns out it is a pretty popular cycle route. A seemingly endless line of MAMIL’s passed me as I trudged my way up the hill. Their gaze seeming to say “have you lost your way to work?”. I suppose I was rather ill equipped, with my faded camo shorts, fundraising teeshirt and trusty commuter bike, I probably didn’t look like I was out to tackle this famous hill climb. After a while though, I did find myself looking enviably at their padded shorts!
But I made it to the top nonetheless. And to my surprise, the ski resort was already closed for the season. It was only a couple of weeks ago I was hiking through there in six feet of snow. So with everything closed, there was nothing for me to do than unceremoniously turn myself around and head back down again.
An honorary mention should go to Alex Wilkie. His gallant efforts to join me today were thwarted at the last minute by some technical difficulties. Your efforts were still very much appreciated as with your very generous donation. Thanks mate!
So as I sit here with sunburnt neck and very sore legs, the plan now moves to the next challenge. This one is mountain biking and should be a lot more fun. Though I have a feeling I do not know what I am letting myself into!
